Stewards Report extract : Giddyupjock and Elite And Petiteboth began awkwardly and lost ground. 

Rounding the home turn Ogre (AAllen (a)) blundered and became badly unbalanced. A Allen (a) reported that for a short distance following this incident he lost the use of his near side iron. 

Cyclone Brad laid out under pressure in the straight proving difficult to rideout. 

A post race veterinary examination of Belle Of Frisco found no abnormalities. 

Trainer Mr M Lynch reported that Ogre would now be spelled.

Stewards Report extract : En route to the barriers Kid In Town struck the running rail near the 1500m  resulting in its rider N Paine being dislodged. N Paine was uninjured during this incident. Kid In Town underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. 

For some distance during the early stages Newstart which was inclined to over race was restrained away from the heels of Kid In Town. 

For some distance after the 500m It’s All Happening was held up and unable to improve on the heels of Newton’s Law. Approaching the home turn 

Newstart was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of Kid In Town. 

For some distance after straightening On Motion was held up on the heels of Gold Trace and unable to improve. Gold Trace was inclined to hang in under pressure in the straight. 

M Heagney (It’s All Happening) was reprimanded under AR 143 (b) for returning to scale 400 grams under his declared weight. In assessing penalty stewards took into account the very warm conditions along with M Heagney’s unblemished record to weight related matters in over 20 years of race riding.

Stewards Report extract : Afleet In Time was a late scratching by stewards at 2.48pm acting on veterinary advice.
When questioned regarding Princess Monde racing more forward today rider K Forrester stated that he was given no specific instructions from the trainer however during the early stages the mare had shown more speed from the barriers than at its previous start and as he was caught very wide on the track he elected to push forward in an attempt to obtain a position closer to the rail. His explanation was accepted. 

After the 500m The Leopard was continually steadied for some distance when awkwardly placed on the heels Extravagant Miss. 

Approaching the home turn Little Billie was checked after improving onto the heels of Ballet Bird. 

Shortly after straightening Desert Sessions was steadied when crowded between Currajar and Chaffy Balza (R Spokes) which shifted out when not clear. R Spokes was severely reprimanded under AR 137(a). 

Near the 100m Chaffy Balza was momentarily eased to avoid the heels of Currajar (S Seamer) which shifted in under pressure when not quite clear. S Seamer was advised to exercise more care in future.

Stewards Report extract : Approaching the 1000m turn Nude Model which was racing greenly hung out and clipped the heels of Black Patch losing significant ground. 

Rounding the 1000m turn when the pace steadied Iglesia Carat commenced to over race and shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of Little Jessie, resulting in Green River which was racing to the outside of Iglesia Carat having to be checked and lose ground. 

Approaching the home turn Liberty’s Magic was momentarily held up for clear running on  the heels of Us’n’Jack. Near the 200m Liberty’s Magic was momentarily steadied to avoid the heels of Us’n’Jack (G Lynch) which shifted out marginally. G Lynch was advised to exercise more care in future.

Stewards Report extract : Invincible Power began very awkwardly and  lost ground. From the 250m until near the 100m Dancetiger had difficulty obtaining clear running when held up on the heels of Ravendra.


Shortly after the winning post A White (a) was dislodged from her mount Booka. A White (a) was treated on course by ambulance officers before being transported to Ballina Hospital for pre cautionary x-rays on her neck and shoulders.

Stewards Report extract : I’ll Have Him began awkwardly outwards and bumped with Stud Muffin. 
 
Near the 200m Jezzawin (G Lynch) attempted to take a narrow run between Clintson and Rovada Divi. When attempting to take this run Rovada Divi shifted out slightly resulting in that mare and Jezzawin bumping very heavily which then forced Rovada Divi to shift in. Perfect Timing which was racing to the inside of Rovada Divi was checked when crowded by that runner. Hotact which was racing back to the inside of Jezzawin was badly held up and checked after improving onto the heels of Rovada Divi. Hotact then was forced to shift out around the heels of Rovada Divi to obtain clear running. Whilst stewards did not take any direct action against G Lynch he was advised that he must take greater care when attempting to take runs where there is doubtful room to do so.

Stewards Report extract : En route to the barriers the rider of Peep P Graham became concerned with the mares action and returned to the mounting enclosure. Stewards then declared Peep a late scratching at 5.18pm. 
 
On jumping Star Of Filante was checked when crowded by Take A Stand and Waterbury both of  which shifted ground.

 After the 100m Star Of Filante was steadied when crowded by Missy Windy Weepu which was taken in by Border Loup (M Paget). M Paget was reprimanded under AR 137(a). 

Stewards considered an objection lodged by E Kehoe (a) the rider of At The Roxy placed 4th against Waterbury (S Seamer) placed 3rd alleging interference after the 200m. It was established that after the 200m At The Roxy had attempted to take a run between Take A Stand and Waterbury, where at this point Waterbury had shifted in slightly. It was the opinion of the stewards that At The Roxy had not fully established a clear run between Take A Stand and Waterbury after the 200m and subsequently the objection was dismissed.
