Stewards Report Extract : MAGNUM FORTY FOUR (B. El-Issa) began awkwardly.
Passing the 600m MAGNUM FORTY FOUR improved on to the heels of LEGAL STAR (J. Holder) and blundered.
Near the 100m MAGNUM FORTY FOUR was disappointed for clear running between AGENT BLUE (J. Kropp) and RIVER LAD (E. Wilkinson).
Approaching the 100m FALLS CREEK (J. Bowditch) was inconvenienced when tightened for room by LOTSEVENTY (L. Cassidy), which shifted in when not quite clear. L. Cassidy was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Stewards Report Extract : SPURTASTIC (Michael Palmer) and WITCHES LIPS (S. Traecey) were slow to begin.
Near the 900m GESTICULATION (P. Hammersley) had to be steadied off the heels of OLYMPIA'S FLAME (E. Wilkinson), resulting in GESTICULATION shifting out and making contact with TRUMP (B. El-Issa), forcing that runner wider on the track.
AQUATORIAL (B. Stewart) raced three wide without cover throughout the event. TRUMP also raced wide throughout the event.
After passing the 700m OUR HAND OF FAITH (M. Wood), when racing greenly, shifted in and away from SHOW A PRINCE (S. Galloway) and made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced.
Near the 400m OUR HAND OF FAITH, which continued to race greenly, had to be restrained to avoid the heels of OLYMPIA'S FLAME before shifting out in order to improve.
After passing the 200m GESTICULATION shifted out and bumped TRUMP.

When questioned regarding the performance of WITCHES LIPS, rider S. Traecey reported that after beginning awkwardly the filly was reluctant to stride out in the early stages of the event, however began to respond to his riding shortly after entering the home straight. He added that he was held up for clear running over the concluding stages when awkwardly placed at the heels of GESTICULATION. S. Traecey conceded that he may have erred in not shifting to the outside of the heels of TRUMP when making ground passing the 200m, which would have afforded him an uninterrupted run to the finish. Stewards agreed with jockey Traecey's concession but in all the circumstances did not take any further action.
Stewards sought an explanation from apprentice M. Palmer regarding the performance of SPURTASTIC. M. Palmer explained that the gelding travelled well to the 500m where it seemed at that point to resent racing in restricted room to the inside of AQUATORIAL. He added that SPURTASTIC did not sprint when placed under pressure upon entering the home straight, however still worked to the line fairly and was not entirely disappointing. Trainer C. Williamson was disappointed with the performance of the gelding as leading into today's race it had worked very well. He undertook to report to stewards anything that comes to light in coming days which may have had an effect on the horse's performance. A post-race veterinary examination of SPURTASTIC revealed no abnormalities.

Mr Jones explained that at its most recent start FANGLES led and was pressured during the race and weakend in the home straight. Mr Jones added that FANGLES has worked well but he has kept it fresh since its last start and in his opinion being able to obtain cover behind the leaders today was the reason for FANGLES being able to finish the race off strongly.

Munce's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 meetings, to commence at midnight on Saturday, 2 April, and expire at midnight on Thursday, 14 April 2011.

On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all monies invested on ASHMA'S GOLD be refunded with deductions of 3 cents in the dollar on the face value of win and place tickets to apply. Trainer B. Herne was advised that he must obtain 2 further barrier certificates for ASHMA'S GOLD prior to its next start. JUST BEEN LUCKY (C. DAI KON (E. Wilkinson) shifted out shortly after the start , forcing I'M RUTHLESS (C. Munce), MR ORIENT (S. Galloway) and HEZA FLASHMAN (M. Hellyer) wider.
Near the 1000m CAPTAIN CLAYTON, when being restrained, shifted in across the heels of BULLET PROOF (S. Scriven), which resulted in BULLET PROOF shifting out slightly and CAPTAIN CLAYTON clipping the heels of BULLET PROOF and becoming unbalanced.
Near the 900m BLACKWOODS CHOICE (J. Holder) had to be checked when tightened for room by MONASHEE WARRIOR (M. Wood) which was taken in by BLUE JUPITER (L. Cassidy), which also was taken in slightly by CULTURE WARRIOR (Matthew Palmer) which after being restrained off the heels of BULLET PROOF, shifted in marginally when racing in restricted room to the inside of CAPTAIN CLAYTON. MR ORIENT, I'M RUTHLESS and HEZA FLASHMAN, which were trailing, were all inconvenienced as a result of this incident.
CULTURE WARRIOR and CAPTAIN CLAYTON raced wide for the majority of the event.
Approaching the 800m CULTURE WARRIOR had to be restrained off the heels of BULLET PROOF. CULTURE WARRIOR then shifted out slightly and was then checked off the heels of CAPTAIN CLAYTON which shifted in slightly. MR ORIENT, which was following, also had to be checked and shifted wider on the track.
Approaching the 100m MONASHEE WARRIOR and AQUA CALDA were tightened for room when racing to the inside of DAI KON, which hung out, and HEZA FLASHMAN, which attempted a run to the inside of BLUE JUPITER where doubtful racing room existed.
Following the running of this race stewards received a report from Dr M. Lenz that BULLET PROOF had suffered a bleeding attack during the event. Stewards interviewed trainer L. Gough who disputed the findings of the veterinary officer and as such the matter was adjourned to enable stewards to make further inquiries and investigations into the matter.
Stewards intend to open an inquiry into apprentice J. Wood's riding of KALKIE KANE over the final 300m.

Leaving the 600m FROM LONDON shifted out to improve and in doing so forced SHOW ME AN ACE wider on the track.
CRAIGELLACHIE (Matthew Palmer) was held up when unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn and in the home straight and went to the line not fully tested by its rider.
SHOW ME AN ACE shifted out near the 300m and bumped REQUESTED (L. Cassidy).
CASH 'N' STYLE (R. McMahon) was tightened for room after passing the 100m when racing between STARLIN and NOROCOS (C. Munce) which shifted in and away from FROM LONDON (S. Galloway). Stewards acknowledged that NOROCOS was tiring at the time but nonetheless reminded C. Munce of his obligations to at all times attempt to keep his mounts on a straight course.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of NOROCOS, C. Munce was of the opinion that the horse failed to run out the distance of today's race.
Stewards questioned trainer B. Guy regarding the seemingly improved performance of IN A TANGLE (J. Wood). B. Guy stated that IN A TANGLE raced well when it resumed from a spell at its most recent start when it settled back in the field and made steady ground in the home straight. Mr Guy added that IN A TANGLE has worked well and he was confident of a forward showing today over a further distance than last start.
SNIP 'N' DUCK lost its near hind plate in running.
