Stewards Report Extract : DIRTY MARTINI (C. Munce) was tightened on jumping away between PERSIAN STORY (P. Hammersley) and EDWARDSCISSORHANDS (M. Hellyer), which shifted out.
FLASH JESTER (J. Holder) shifted out at the start and made contact with EMBRAER (B. Stewart).
Approaching the 600m STROMBERG GOLD (M. O'Brien) shifted in and away from FLASH JESTER and in doing so brushed MIDNIGHT AGENDA (P. Schmidt).
MIDNIGHT AGENDA raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 500m.

Stewards Report Extract : Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer D. Hansen for the late notification of C. Munce as the rider of SHOW ME AN ACE and D. Missen as the rider of HE'S REELING in Race 6.
Trainer K. Schweida advised that, with the addition of the blinkers, REQUESTED will be ridden in a forward position if circumstances permit. However, the horse settled midfield after failing to show the expected pace.
DOUBLE GLOW (L. Rolls) and STRONG SHOW (K. Fuji) made contact on jumping away.
SHOW ME AN ACE (C. Munce) and STRONG SHOW raced wide for the majority of the event.
SIR QUALIFIED (R. Goltz) and was held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
ANGELCOURT (R. Wiggins) had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ABDICATED, jockey C. Whiteley said the horse never travelled well at any stage throughout the event. He added that the horse would be better suited over distances greater than the 1100m of today's event. Trainer D. Sutton agreed with jockey C. Whiteley's assessment and advised stewards it would be his intention that the horse be stepped up in distance.

Near the 1300m ELUSIVE SHADOW (D. Missen) was tightened for room and had to be checked when racing between MITAYDEN (C. Munce) and RIO REX, KISS ME DEADLY (M. Hellyer) and KING CAPO (J. Holder). After taking evidence from the riders concerned, stewards were of the view that RIO REX had improved between ELUSIVE SHADOW and KISS ME DEADLY approaching that point, placing the runners in restricted room, and as a result of a slight movement of KISS ME DEADLY, ELUSIVE SHADOW had to be checked. Stewards deemed no one rider or horse fully responsible for the incident and took no further action.
RIO REX raced ungenerously in the middle stages of the event.
ELUSIVE SHADOW shifted out under pressure over the final 250m, taking both BILLUM (C. Whiteley) and RHODES TO GLORY wider on the track.
ALL IN TIME (J. Bowditch) was tightened for racing room approaching the finish of the event when racing between MITAYDEN which shifted out slightly, and KING CAPO (J. Holder), which shifted in and away from KISS ME DEADLY. J. Holder was reprimanded under AR. 137(a) for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount.

On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all monies invested on ROSAGAZE be refunded, with deductions of 26 cents in the dollar on the face value of win tickets and 19 cents in the dollar on the face value of place tickets to apply. Trainer L. Mayfield-Smith's representative was advised that ROSAGAZE must obtain a further barrier certificate before being permitted to start again.
STEALING KISSES (B. Evans) and DON'S SURPRISE (C. Whiteley) were both slow to begin.
Near the 800m MISS BRADBURY (J. Stanley) shifted in and made contact with the running rail.
