Stewards Report extract : Near the 1000m KATE'S MESSAGE (L. Cassidy) shifted out to improve and raced wide from that point onwards.

TOUCH ME KNOTT (J. Taylor) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
RED SONJA (M. Hughes) hung out badly rounding the home turn and forced BODERY VAREMO (B. Johnson) wider on the track. Trainer J. Mott was advised that a warning was being placed on RED SONJA for its racing manners.
Leaving the 200m RED SONJA improved on to the heels of the tiring STROMBERG GOLD (K. Mizobe) and as a result had to shift out abruptly.
Over the concluding stages STROMBERG GOLD shifted out under pressure whilst losing ground which resulted in TREVALYN GOLD (C. McIver) improving on to that gelding's heels, obliging the rider to stop riding and alter course.
On pulling up at the conclusion of the event STROMBERG GOLD fell, dislodging apprentice K. Mizobe. Apprentice Mizobe was examined by paramedics and transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for further tests. A veterinary examination of STROMBERG GOLD revealed no abnormalities. Stewards advised trainer P. Sexton that STROMBERG GOLD must undergo a full veterinary examination prior to having a 1000m gallop in the presence of a steward and following the 1000m gallop undergo an ECG and an endoscopic examination.
Stewards questioned J. Taylor regarding the performance of TOUCH ME KNOTT. Jockey Taylor stated that the horse raced greenly and hung in throughout the event which resulted in him being unable to fully test his mount over the concluding stages. He further stated that he was of the opinion the horse would be suited to races over longer distances and that he had recommended to connections that the horse would benefit from the addition of blinkers.

Stewards Report extract : MY OPPORTUNITY, which sustained a laceration to the nearside shoulder, was a late scratching at 2.51 p.m. by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all monies invested on MY OPPORTUNITY be refunded, with deductions of 14 cents in the dollar on the face value of win tickets and 13 cents in the dollar on the face value of place tickets to apply. Trainer B. Trimble was advised that he must produce a veterinary clearance for MY OPPORTUNITY prior to its next race start.
FLYIN' FU (C. Eaton) and LITTLEMISSBIGTIME (C. McIver) were both severely tightened for room at the start and lost ground between YOU'D BETTER (B. Stewart) and OMNIA MUNDA MUNDIS (M. Morris), which began very awkwardly and shifted in.

Jockey Stewart stated that in his opinion after obtaining a good position behind the lead the horse did not travel comfortably and was under pressure from the 600m and in his opinion proved disappointing in the run to the finish. Trainer D. Bell confirmed his disappointment in the performance and gave an undertaking to advise stewards should anything come to light in the coming days which would explain the performance. A post-race veterinary examination of YOU'D BETTER revealed no abnormalities.

Cheshire), which had improved to the inside of ISTAAR, resulting in ARABIA having to be checked and losing its position. Apprentice B. Evans' licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 meetings, with the term of suspension to commence at midnight on Saturday, 13 November, and expire following the Ipswich meeting on Friday, 26 November 2010.

Clasohm) improved to his outside and this resulted in him being held up on the heels of the tiring CASHIUS PAY until a point approaching the 500m when able to improve on the back of LORD THEODORE. He further stated that in his opinion this had a detrimental effect on the finishing position of the horse.
After taking evidence from C. Whiteley, stewards adjourned an inquiry into his riding of ILLLUDE from the 400m onwards in order to obtain further evidence.

Stewards Report extract : BON BROOK (N. Evans) was tightened for room at the start between FLEUR DE BAIE (D. Griffin) and HIGH CHANCELLOR (M. Paget), both of which shifted ground.
D. Griffin reported that after being caught three wide on FLEUR DE BAIE after the start he attempted to restrain the horse to take a position nearer the rails, however the horse resented being restrained and would not settle, resulting in him being obliged to race wide throughout.
When questioned as to the seemingly improved performance of TYPHOON FURY (B. Stewart) today as opposed to the horse's most recent start, trainer C. Jordan stated that at the Gold Coast on 23 October the horse travelled reasonably well until another runner shifted ground on its inside and after being bumped by that horse TYPHOON FURY appeared to lose interest. He added that the horse today benefited from the addition of blinkers. The explanation was noted.

Apprentice Evans stated that whilst he initially had considered availing himself of this run he elected to shift back to the inside of HOLDING THE FORT as he felt the tight run between HOLDING THE FORT and RIM OF FIRE may have closed and he elected to improve on the back of MISTERSUN, which appeared to be travelling well at that point of the race. Stewards, whilst critical of apprentice Evans' decision at that point of the race, did not feel that the option to shift back to the inside was unreasonable in the circumstances and no action was token other than to remind him of his obligations under the rules.
