A post-race veterinary examination of PRETTY STASH, which finished tailed off, revealed the gelding to have lacerations to the near fore fetlock and the off hind coronet.

SILVALITE (P. Keane) bled from both nostrils during the event. As this was the first time that the filly had bled, trainer K. Doughty was advised that it will incur a mandatory 3-month bar from racing under AR. 53A and before starting again must perform a satisfactory gallop over at least 1000m in the presence of a steward. The veterinary surgeon reported that SILVALITE had shifted its near fore plate in running.

Cassidy stated that whilst the early speed of the race did not suit the mare he was disappointed with the horse's performance and was of the opinion it may not have backed up from its previous run last week. Stable representative D. Gollan concurred with jockey Cassidy's assessment, however added that the mare seemed to have pulled up well from the run and undertook to report to stewards anything that comes to light in subsequent days which may have had an effect on the performance. A post-race veterinary examination of BAROQUE PEARL revealed the mare to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. A swab sample was taken.

Colless), which missed the start at its most recent run, would be ridden in a forward position today. A public announcement was made to this effect. The horse was ridden accordingly.

FOUND A TREASURE (N. BY CHOICE overraced in the early and middle stages and near the 800m shifted out forcing BALMORAL BOY (M. Morris) wider on the track.

Near the 900m FOUND A TREASURE, which was overracing, had to be steadied off the heels of RYTARGA.

Leaving the 500m RYTARGA improved on to the heels of HAWKS PRIDE (R. Goltz) and had to be steadied. FOUND A TREASURE, which was following, was also inconvenienced in this incident.

BY CHOICE lost its off hind plate in running.

TRADIES HOPE (M. Heagney) lost its off hind plate in running.

On return to scale G. Colless, the rider of VILLAGE COMMAND, placed 2nd by the Judge, lodged an objection against BY CHOICE (K. Banks) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 200m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol film, stewards upheld the objection. A further protest lodged by S. Scriven, the rider of 4th placegetter CERVANCE, against BY CHOICE, alleging interference upon straightening, was dismissed. In dismissing the objection, stewards were mindful of the margin which was in excess of 1 lengths. Correct weight was subsequently semaphored on the amended Judge's placings of 11, 8, 1 and 3. At a subsequent inquiry K. Banks was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 300m she permitted her mount to shift out when being urged along under pressure when insufficiently clear of CERVANCE, tightening the running of that horse out on to VILLAGE COMMAND, resulting in CERVANCE having to be checked and relinquishing its position. In this incident RYTARGA (R. Hancock), which was following, also had to be restrained to avoid the heels of CERVANCE. K. Banks pleaded guilty to a further charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that leaving the 150m, whilst riding her mount along, she permitted it to shift out, making contact with VILLAGE COMMAND, causing that runner to become unbalanced, and again leaving the 100m she permitted BY CHOICE to shift out making heavy contact with VILLAGE COMMAND, taking the rightful running of VILLAGE COMMAND and forcing that horse wider on the track. K. Banks' licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 meetings on each charge, with the terms of suspension to be served concurrently and commence at midnight on Saturday, 5 March, and expire at midnight on Friday, 18 March 2011.

White regarding the seemingly improved performance of CRIMSON WARRIOR. Ms White stated that the horse's current campaign had been affected by the weather which resulted in the horse racing on the synthetic surface and the horse did not race up to its potential. Trainer L. White added that the horse had pleased in its preparation for today's race and she was confident of a forward showing. Stewards noted the explanation.

Bogenhuber) shifted in making slight contact with FLAWLESS (J. Byrne). A short distance later PARIAS lost its position when tightened for room between FLAWLESS, which shifted out slightly, and DAYS GONE BY (Matthew Palmer), which shifted in and away from HUBERT (M. Wood), which in turn shifted in as a result of MISS TRISH hanging in despite the efforts of its rider. As stewards deemed this a racing incident, no action was taken.
