No doubt most racing folk would have been greeted by Kerry at the enclosure gate at Ipswich Race Track on many occasions. For those that missed the opportunity to wish Kerry a Happy Birthday last week, he wishes to advise everybody that he will still be accepting gifts and cash this Friday but could you please put the cash in a brown paper bag. Race 1 Mack Trucks Brisbane Plate (Maiden @ Set Weights) 2150 Metres
Stewards Report extract : SASSO was declared a late scratching by stewards at 1 pm on veterinary advice when the gelding was found to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer R. Drysdale was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance for SASSO prior to its next race start.
PEPPSEELON (N. Thomas) began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped BLUE MEDICINE.
Leaving the 150m, ANGEL GAL (P. Hammersley) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of PEPPSEELON (N. Thomas), which shifted in when not fully clear. N. Thomas, rider of PEPPSEELON, was severely reprimanded and instructed to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
When questioned regarding the performance of VICTORIA CRISTAL, B. Wallace explained that after being caught wide in the early stages he elected to push forward and position the horse outside the leader. He added that VICTORIA CRISTAL travelled well until after leaving the 800m however seemed to lose interest and could not sprint when other runners went forward into the race. He added that VICTORIA CRYSTAL again regained interest in the straight and ran home fairly.
BLUE MEDICINE lost its near hind plate in running.

Stewards Report extract : Leaving the 700m, LASS EE (K. Ashton) had to be steadied when tightened for room between FRAHA (E. Kehoe) and PRO JAASI (J. Wood), which shifted out away from TYCOON ANGEL (B. Richardson).
Near the 500m, LADY MONTEL (J. Piper) shifted in slightly, brushing FOREST REDGUM (G. Colless). A short distance later, LADY MONTEL shifted out, forcing SIR QUALIFIED (J. Holder) and TYCOON ANGEL wider on the track.
Passing the 150m, PRO JAASI (J. Wood) was momentarily tightened between TYCOON ANGEL and SIR QUALIFIED, which shifted out slightly.
Passing the winning post, both LASS EE and FRAHA were tightened for room between KING DOD (B. Wallace) and SIR QUALIFIED when both horses shifted ground marginally.
A post race veterinary examination of LASS EE revealed the horse had sustained a laceration to the off hind coronet.

Stewards Report extract : ROCK MUNCHER (J. Wood) blundered at the start.
P. Wolfgram, rider of MONASHEE SUCCESS, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 650m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of KELLY'S DREAM (M. Radecker), forcing that runner in on to MISS GLORY (P. Hammersley), resulting in MISS GLORY having to be checked and lose its rightful running. P. Wolfgram was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commenced at midnight, 6 November and to expire at midnight, 17 November.
KARMA GUTSA hung out and made the home turn wide on the track and was not competitive over the latter stages of the race. Trainer C. Halliday was advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily before racing again.
DRAGON LILY (N. Yamada) hung out and made the home turn extremely wide and raced greenly in the straight. Connections will be advised that an official warning would be placed on DRAGON LILY regarding its racing manners.
A post race veterinary examination of KELLYS DREAM, which performed below expectations, revealed the filly to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer P. Duff was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance for the filly prior to its next race start.

Stewards Report extract : Stable representative for Trainer P. Balzen was fined $100 for presenting ABBIDAN to the enclosure with incorrect gear.
A short delay was caused when ALL THE GIRLS GOLD required attention in the barriers. A further delay was caused when SOMMERSET QUEEN was fractious in the barriers. The mare was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
ALL THE GIRLS GOLD (A. Erhart) began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with LADY INNOCENT (L. Cheshire).
At the start, ANNIA MINOR (D. Griffin) began awkwardly and shifted out, forcing SOMERSET QUEEN (K. Sawyers) out on to SMART OF COURSE (G. Colless), which in turn shifted out and hampered MISS DRAGONESS (P. Hammersley).
MISS DRAGONESS commenced to hang out from the 600m and continued to hang out rounding the home turn, taking no competitive part in the race. Connections were advised that MISS DRAGONESS must perform satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start.
Near the 150m, ANNIA MINOR (D. Griffin) shifted out, making contact with ABBIDAN (M. Palmer).

Stewards Report extract : J. Wood was examined by the ambulance officers and stood down from his engagement on KWILA SUNRISE and A PAIR OF DIAMONDS. Riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.
CHATEAU (G. Colless) was tightened for room on jumping away between KWILA SUNRISE (J. Piper) and BASS ROCK (J. Taylor), which shifted out.
Near the 500m, HUNKA BURNIN' LOVE (C. Priest) had to be steadied when tightened for room between CHATEAU (G. Colless) and RIVER PERFUME (D. Griffin), which shifted out. D. Griffin, rider of RIVER PERFUME, was severely reprimanded and advised that in future he must be fully clear when shifting ground.
WARANDO STREET (B. Wallace) was momentarily held up for clear running on entering the straight.
KWILA SUNRISE (J. Piper) and HUNKA BURNIN' LOVE (C. Priest) both raced wide for the majority of the event.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SHABUSHI, C. Munce stated that he placed the horse under pressure from the 800m, however it was most disappointing in its failure to finish the race off. C. Munce added that he advised connections that the horse may benefit from the addition of blinkers. A post race veterinary examination of SHABUSHI failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
