Race 1 Taste Of Tweed Plate (Maiden ) 1000 Metres
STEWARDS REPORT EXTRACT : Afleet In Time and Danish Opera were slow to begin.
All My Heart began awkwardly.
Karma Gutsa hung out rounding the 700m turn resulting in Hidden Woman and Vicshan being hampered and carried wider. Karma Gutsa continued to hang out for some distance throughout the middle stages proving difficult to ride. Trainer Ms C Halliday was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of Karma Gutsa.
Near the 150m All My Heart was steadied when disappointed for a run between Karma Gutsa and Hidden Woman.
It was reported following the race that Blasko had lost its near hind plate.
A post race veterinary examination of Ditzy Dancer found the filly to be lame in its off fore leg. Trainer Ms R Feil was advised that she will require to submit a veterinary clearance for Ditzy Dancer prior to the filly racing again

Near the 500m Westley was steadied after improving onto the heels of Pikkoro.
A post race veterinary examination of Vintage Dom found the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the 1st time. Trainer Mr S Phillips was advised that Vintage Dom would now be barred from racing for a period of 3 months under the provisions of AR 53A.
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a Good 3 at 2.45pm

STEWARDS REPORT EXTRACT : After being loaded into the barriers Clasped broke through the front gates and ran through the inside running rail near the 1400m before galloping a lap of the sand training track riderless before being recaptured.
The race was delayed for a period whilst the running rail was being repaired. Clasped was declared a late scratching by stewards at 3.10pm acting on veterinary advice.
All monies invested on Clasped were ordered to be refunded and all successful bets placed with bookmakers were to be paid less the deductions of 29 cents in the dollar for the win and 20 cents in the dollar for the place on the face value of the ticket.

STEWARDS REPORT EXTRACT : Yass River was a late scratching by stewards at 3.48pm acting on veterinary advice when the gelding was found to be lame in its off fore leg.
All monies invested on Yass River were ordered to be refunded and all successful bets placed with bookmakers were to be paid less the deductions of 23 cents in the dollar for the win and 23 cents in the dollar for the place on the face value of the ticket.
Trainer Mr D Bowen was advised that he will be required to submit a veterinary clearance for Yass River prior to the gelding racing again.
Captive Way was slow to begin.
J Watkins (Hayil And Pace) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 137(A)(5)(a)(ii) in that he used the whip in a forehand manner on 10 occasions prior to the 100m, 5 more than is permitted under the rules. J Watkins licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Sunday 27th February 2011 and to expire on Friday 4th March 2011 on which day he may ride

Shortly after the start Prussian Moon and La Vie Esprit bumped heavily on a number of occasions.
Heavens Own hung out rounding the 700m turn. When questioned regarding her handling of Heavens Own after the 700m rider T Harrison (a) stated that the filly was inclined to hang out rounding the 700m turn and then continued to hang out for some distance after placing her in an awkward position on the heels of Discover The Gold, resulting in her having to ease Heavens Own in an attempt to balance her mount up. T Harrison’s explanation was accepted.
A post race veterinary examination of Discover The Gold found no abnormalities

A ferocious storm hit the course after the running of the last race. As the horses are loaded into the barriers (above left) the mountain is still visible in the background.
