Stewards Report Extract : NUGGETS NOT ROCKS, which was kicked by another runners at the barriers, was declared a late scratching at 12.07 p.m. by stewards acting on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all monies invested on NUGGETS NOT ROCKS be refunded, with deductions of 7 cents in the dollar on the face value of win tickets and 8 cents in the dollar on the face value of place tickets to apply.
BOM CHICKA WAH WAH (C. Munce), IDLE MINDS (T. Huxham) and IMA GEM (J. Kropp) were all slow to begin.

Stewards Report Extract : Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer D. Hansen for the late declaration of M. Hellyer as the rider of POP'S CHOICE.
The start was delayed when TINGLES MY TOES (D. Griffin) had to be resaddled.
The start was further delayed as a result of FAITH NO MORE (M. Wood) being caught on the side partition upon entering the barriers. FAITH NO MORE underwent a veterinary examination and was passed to take its place in the field.
SPANISH FIESTA (C. Munce) delayed the start further when being difficult to load. Trainer M. Mair was advised that a warning would placed on that filly.

A post-race veterinary examination of BACK IN LOUISIANA revealed no abnormalities.
D. Tanti the rider of RATTLE AND ROLL, reported that in his opinion the horse failed to handle the prevailing track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination of RATTLE AND ROLL revealed no abnormalities other than that the horse had lost its near fore plate in running.
ZAABMAN (D. Green) bled from both nostrils during the event. As this was the second occasion on which the horse had bled, trainer M. Thexton's representative, C. Austen, was advised that the gelding will now incur a mandatory lifetime ban from racing under AR. 53A(5).

Stewards Report Extract : Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer L. Rowe for the late declaration of E. Wilkinson as the rider of FALON TERROR.
The start of this race was delayed when DIET (L. Cassidy) proved difficult to load. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on that gelding.
GET BACK JOJO (K. Wharton) and INDEX PAGE (M. Wood) were both slow to begin.
Near the 900m SLIGHT GLANCE (J. Taylor) was steadied when momentarily tightened for room between CALLAN PARK (S. Galloway) and DIET, which shifted in.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH (C. Priest) and CURRAWEE LASS (M. Hellyer) raced wide throughout.
AMO LA NONNA (Matthew Palmer) was held up between the 600m and the 500m before being steadied from the heels of CALLAN PARK at that point.
CALLAN PARK had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the straight.
Shortly after entering the home straight MONJAYA BOY (B. Stewart) shifted out around the heels of IN A STORM (C. Munce) in an attempt to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with DIET, causing both horses to become unbalanced. DIET and MONJAYA BOY then made contact on a number of occasions and at a point approaching the 300m DIET shifted out forcing CALLAN PARK wider on the track which in turn forced ENOUGH IS ENOUGH out across the rightful running of HUSHOVD (P. Hammersley), causing its rider to stop riding and shift out to avoid that horse's heels.
E. Wilkinson, the rider of FALON TERROR, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that leaving the 100m he permitted his mount to shift out under pressure, taking IN A STORM outwards, resulting in RUN AWAY RUBY (R. McMahon) being tightened for room between IN A STORM and DIET and having to be checked. E. Wilkinson's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, to commence at midnight on Wednesday, 30 March, and expire at midnight on Friday, 8 April 2011.

Jockey Munce stated that in his opinion the horse was unable to muster early pace in the prevailing track conditions and as a result was forced to settle further back in the field than anticipated. He added that this resulted in him being forced to race wide throughout the event. Trainer J. Fitzgerald stated that as the horse was having its first start back from a long spell, he was of the opinion that the prevailing track conditions had a significant effect on the performance today. A post-race veterinary examination of TIGHTROPE revealed no abnormalities.
Apprentice M. Hellyer, the rider of 4th placegetter LOTS OF SUCCESS, was found guilty of a charge under AR. 137(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out to the end of the race which in the opinion of the stewards resulted in his mount being beaten by the margin of a nose by 3rd placegetter BEARTRACKER (K. Fuji). Apprentice Hellyer's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 weeks, with the term to commence at midnight on Sunday, 3 April, and expire at midnight on Sunday, 17 April 2011.
Following his ride in this event, C. Munce was stood down from his remaining engagements by the Club doctor and riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

CURRENT AFFAIR (D. Browne) shifted in at the start making heavy contact with INCANDESCENT (J. Holder) which lost ground as a result.

Leaving the 1200m TOY RULER was steadied when momentarily tightened for room by AZZURRA BAY (M. Wood), which shifted in.
STICKSY (M. Hellyer) overraced when steadied during the early stages.

TOY RULER was forced to race in restricted room and was steadied on a number of occasions from leaving the 500m until leaving the 400m between NOISY SCOOTER and AZZURRA BAY which shifted out in an attempt to improve around the tiring ALL YOURS.
Stewards sought an explanation from apprentice M. Wood, the rider of AZZURRA BAY, regarding his tactics adopted between the 900m and the 500m where it appeared he had opportunity to initially improve behind ALL YOURS (N. Thomas), and then when leaving the 600m it appeared that whilst DUEL SHOW improved to his outside he had opportunity to shift out around the heels of ALL YOURS in an attempt to improve into the race rather than be held up behind ALL YOURS which had commenced to lose ground. This resulted in AZZURRA BAY being held up and unable to improve until approaching the 400m. Apprentice Wood stated that at that stage of the race it was his opinion that AZZURRA BAY was not travelling well and that he was satisfied to allow DUEL SHOW improve into the race to his outside and then follow that runner into the straight. He added that he was a victim of circumstances when ALL YOURS compounded leaving the 600m as he felt that that runner was a chance in the event and was of the opinion that it would take him into the race from that point. In the circumstances, stewards noted apprentice M. Wood's explanation.

Shortly after the start RUSSIAN ROYALTY (D. Green) was steadied when momentarily tightened for room between CAVALLO D'ORO (K. Wharton) and MALLARD (J. Byrne), which shifted in and away from ENEMYATTHEGATE (P. Hammersley).
When steadied approaching the 800m PATH TO FREEDOM (S. Galloway) commenced to overrace for a short distance at the heels of NAUTICAT (S. Scriven).
MALLARD, EL CONDE (I. Coombes) and ENEMYATTHEGATE raced wide throughout.
Approaching the 400m MALLARD improved on to the heels of ENEMYATTHEGATE and had to be steadied before shifting out to obtain clear running making contact with CAVALLO D'ORO.
PATH TO FREEDOM had difficulty obtaining clear running during the early stages of the home straight.
J. Byrne reported that MALLARD failed to handle the rain-affected conditions.

Shortly after the start RUSSIAN ROYALTY (D. Green) was steadied when momentarily tightened for room between CAVALLO D'ORO (K. Wharton) and MALLARD (J. Byrne), which shifted in and away from ENEMYATTHEGATE (P. Hammersley).
When steadied approaching the 800m PATH TO FREEDOM (S. Galloway) commenced to overrace for a short distance at the heels of NAUTICAT (S. Scriven).
MALLARD, EL CONDE (I. Coombes) and ENEMYATTHEGATE raced wide throughout.
Approaching the 400m MALLARD improved on to the heels of ENEMYATTHEGATE and had to be steadied before shifting out to obtain clear running making contact with CAVALLO D'ORO.
PATH TO FREEDOM had difficulty obtaining clear running during the early stages of the home straight.
J. Byrne reported that MALLARD failed to handle the rain-affected conditions.
